First Open Studio of San Art Laboratory

Dear friends,

Please join San Art Laboratory’s 1st Open Studio this Saturday 30 June. Three artists-in-residence are spending 6 months with San Art Laboratory and this Open Studio is their official salutation to the public. After one month of making themselves’ accquainted with HCMC, Mami Tuan Nguyen (Hanoi), Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai (Hue) and Truong Cong Tung (Daklak-HCMC) open their studio for visitors to ask questions and hear more of their first ideas and thoughts on what they aim to produce during their residency. Please come and have a casual and friendly chat in each artist’s studio! At 3pm, Zoe Butt, Executive-Director and Curator of Sàn Art will share her experiences of the current exhibition ‘dOCUMENTA (13)’ by curator Carolyn Christov Bakargiev d13.documenta.de – arguably one of the most important contemporary art exhibitions that occurs every 5 years.

‘San Art Laboratory’ is a studio/residency program initiated and managed by San Art in Ho Chi Minh City. Situated in separate furnished premises with communal kitchen, nearby ‘San Art’ in Binh Thanh District, ‘San Art Laboratory’ provides three Vietnamese artists with an art studio and living quarters for six months each, beginning May, 2012.
